Chugaboom was out of service this morning, so took the bike to work. Nothing unusual except for the temperature, 35 degrees. Not what you typically think of when you think of Louisiana. Good ride, though Connie was a little reluctant to start (had been over a week and was a little chilly).
Enjoyed the ride, nice sunshine and no school zones yet, and was thankful for two things. First, that I didn't have to go far (only 3.2 miles from door-to-door) and second, for the winter weight leather jacket I got off Craig's list.
God is good.

Layoff Blues
Caught a good day yesterday. Low 40s in the morning, broke out a couple of layers and rode the old girl to work. Managed to escape about 3:00 PM, temperature was 62 degrees and was able to cut down to one layer. Nice day for a putt.
Christmas traffic started early, so didn't stay on the road long. About 45 minutes was enough. Most startling thing was how I seemed to be more distant from the bike, as though we had to get reacquainted. We really don't have much of a layoff in south Louisiana, but even a couple of weeks has an effect. Not a big thing, just not as comfortable on the machine as when I am riding regularly/daily. Big rain today, so no riding. Road trip tomorrow, so no riding. Maybe by early next week I'll be back on again. I do know I'll try not to allow too much time to elapse. Don't want to get rusty!
Keep riding, brethren.
